A Message from the President

Dear Members of the White Plains Bar Association,

I am humbled and honored to write to you as the 68th elected President of the White Plains Bar Association. I am looking forward to serving as President during the upcoming year, and have the privilege of working with our dedicated officers and Board of Directors. The officers for the 2026-2027 term are: Jamie L. Keiser, Vice President;

Maximillian R. Mahalek, Treasurer, and Sara O’Shea, Secretary. Members of our Board of Directors are: Ronald J. Brien, Natalie M. Burke, Stella King, Stephanie Melowsky, Immediate Past President Jeffrey S. Peters, Natasha Shishov-Ginzburg, and Andrew P.

Tureaud.

The White Plains Bar Association includes judges, practicing attorneys and law students and provides opportunities for the professional development of our members through continuing legal education, scholarship, networking, community engagement,

social interaction, mentorship and continued support for students in White Plains. We encourage attorneys in our area to renew their membership and invite new members to join this esteemed bar association that has been dedicated to the White Plains legal

community for over sixty years.

This year, I plan to continue the excellent work of immediate past president Jeffrey S. Peters and expand the offerings of the WPBA. My goals for the upcoming year include boosting membership and providing more opportunities for our members to engage with the judiciary, other practicing attorneys, and the White Plains community.  Please reach out to your colleagues and friends to encourage them to join and enjoy the benefits and strengthen our organization.

To achieve these goals, we plan to increase the number of in-person and online continuing legal education courses on a wide variety of subjects. We will offer CLE courses on topics such as professionalism, ethics and civility, cybersecurity, well-being, and diverse practice areas. We are an accredited CLE provider and our courses are

complementary for members and are offered for a nominal fee to non-members.

The White Plains Bar Association will host a wide range of social events so that attorneys at all stages in their careers will have the opportunity to network and form meaningful connections with members of our bar association. We are already planning

events with other bar associations, including a pop-up social for newly admitted attorneys in the fall, and additional events throughout the year. We will continue to host our annual holiday party, Pizza with the Mayor, and our Past President’s Luncheon and Annual Meeting.

The White Plains Bar Association has supported students within our community and will continue to do so in the coming year. We will renew our sponsorship of the Ninth Judicial District’s Gender Fairness Essay Contest for participating high school students, and at our annual Past President’s Luncheon and Annual Meeting, we plan to

award scholarships to students at Pace University’s Haub Law School.

Please join me, our officers, and Board of Directors in building a stronger, more engaged legal community in White Plains. I welcome you to contact me to share your vision for The White Plains Bar Association in the upcoming year.

Thank you for your continued support and engagement.

Best regards,

Irma K. Nimetz

The WPBA is thrilled to announce that the New York State Continuing Legal Education Board has granted us accredited provider status, which is a significant milestone for our organization. This esteemed recognition allows the WPBA to offer New York State Continuing Legal Education (NYS CLE) credit for a variety of continuing legal education courses that we present in traditional live formats, including interactive web conferences. Soon, we will enjoy the honor of being listed among the official accredited CLE providers by the NYS Continuing Legal Education Board, marking a new chapter in our commitment to high-quality legal education and professional development. We extend our heartfelt thanks to Anastazia Sienty and all the dedicated CLE presenters and organizers who have contributed their time and effort over the past five years to make this achievement possible through their unwavering commitment and passion.

If you are an attorney interested in sharing your expertise by presenting a CLE program to the WPBA membership, we warmly encourage you to get in touch with us! We look forward to the opportunity to connect with you and collaborate on engaging educational offerings that will benefit our community.
